Flight 4 Day 10

Another good day.

I flew this AM for an hour. It was my worst flight to date, but not a bad flight. I just didn't perform like I'd hoped. I was over concentrating and overcompensating. I'm not a morning person and this flight was at 930am.. but i was up since 7... dont know why i just woke up then. i just dont think right in the morning.

Ontop of that we did a VOR approach which i havent done in 4+ months so that just threw me.

I spent the rest of the day... hmm so like the last 5 hrs redesigning my own approach plates. They're Approach Charts/Maps that detail out a certain Instrument approach into a specific airport and runway with specific navigation equipment used. Be it ILS, Localizer, VOR, NDB or GPS.

Heres my modified approach plate for the Lihue ILS on runway 35.

wont' make sense to any of you but basically I added in extra information that we use when we setup for an approach. This way I won't be going over CMARTHAP in my head meanwhile flying the aircraft and talking to Air Traffic Control. It maxes out your multitasking capabilities.

with this new approach plate I can visually see the the information detailed without having to visualize it in my head. because by the time you get through half the procedure something happens, be it adjusting the flight attitude or talking o the radios..then so much is going on you forget your place in the procedure.

Hmmm I wonder what I'll do this weekend? I dont fly till next Monday. Which I might be going over to Honolulu for a cross-country VFR flight. Should be fun!
